Scope of Work

Spearheaded a multi-building architectural and interior revitalization for a prestigious academic institution, led by the adaptive reuse of La Brisa—a historic 1922 Mediterranean Revival private residential estate acquired to expand the Upper School campus. Serving as Lead Interior Architect, converted this grand 9,750 SF residence into the school’s Consolidated Administration Facility, seamlessly integrating executive boardrooms, admissions suites, and campus connections without sacrificing its historic charm. Across the broader portfolio—including the 1902 National Register-listed Pagoda, specialized rare-book archival design, and an 18-building campus color identity master plan—the design strictly honored original structural vocabularies and archival proportions, ensuring the school's rich heritage continuously elevates its modern operational standard.

Bridge Library + Conference Room

Programming and design of library space to house a rare collection of books on South Florida. The goal was a space that protects these irreplaceable volumes and also tells the story they hold.

Every design decision served both preservation and presence. The millwork, shelving, lighting, and finishes were chosen to safeguard fragile materials and to give them a fitting setting. The room draws on the region's history and character, so the architecture becomes part of the collection's narrative. The result is a place for study and discovery where South Florida's past is kept and honored.

Pagoda

Historic 1902 two-story wood frame structure built as the original all-in-one camp and schoolhouse for Paul Ransom who established the nations’s first two-campus migratory boarding school. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it is one of the oldest surviving pioneer-era structures in Miami-Dade County.

Designed by Green & Wicks of Buffalo, New York, I led the programming and needs assessment to adapt the historic structure for contemporary office use while honoring its original architecture. The work added new hallways and five new offices, each shaped by the logic of the existing wood frame.

Following the building formula set by the original architects, every new element uses the same proportions, framing, and construction vocabulary, thereby the additions read as part of the historic fabric rather than an intervention. The result gives the Pagoda a new working life and keeps its architectural character intact, showing how narrative architecture lets a building's original story guide its future.
